WHY HAVEN’T YOU GOT YOUR NEW MAGAZINE?
I know you are asking this question! And I don’t blame you. Sadly, the last magazine we printed was # 96 which was sent to you at the beginning of this year.
The reason you haven’t received a new one is because the money hasn’t yet come in to print the new magazine. As soon as one magazine goes out, I begin waiting on God for the finance to print the new one. This time, we are still waiting for it to come in for this next issue. It costs well over $60,000.00 to print and send out each issue across the world.
I am ready to print another one and keep believing for this miracle of finance to come.
It’s certainly not time to lay down the mandate. It breaks my heart that God’s glorious plan for women is being stamped upon in our current society, even amongst those who are in the church. It’s not time to give up. The challenge is greater than ever as we seek to woo women back to their highest calling.
Malachi 4:4-6 is very challenging as it speaks of the anointing of Elijah to turn the hearts of the fathers back to the children. I believe it also includes the mothers. Most of the army of mothers in the nation have deserted their post in the home (Psalm 68:11,12). It’s time for mothers to come back to the home. It’s time for fathers to get a vision for their children, not just their one or two children they think they can afford, but a heart for children according to God’s heart. This is true revival when fatherhood and motherhood are restored in the nation.
The sad part is that this Scripture tells us that if this doesn’t happen, God will smite the earth with a curse? Are we beginning to see this as we face evil that we could never have imagined in our lives? Abortion even on the day the baby is born! Homosexuality now law in the land! Transgenderism and young people in our schools changing their sex just because it is in vogue!
Oh, let’s pray for a mighty revival to come to our land.

However, it costs finance to print and ship and therefore I rely on the donations of God’s people who have a heart to see families strengthened and healed and restored to give towards this ministry.
There are literally thousands of women who eagerly receive the magazine and yet never donate. I will never stop sending it to them as I want to pour out this message across the nation.

A GOOD IDEA
Since we haven’t sent out a magazine since January, I’ll give you some updates from Above Rubies #96. Do you still have one in your possession? Or have you given it away? It’s natural to give them away and pass them on to friends, isn’t it? That’s the best idea. We want to keep getting the message out to every woman we can.
Before I give you the update, I must give you some ideas about sharing Above Rubies. Every time I go out to the shops or any place I go, I take some Above Rubies. It’s best to put them in a plastic bag before you put them in your handbag as they can get tattered and torn. I love to give them to women I meet in supermarkets. I also put them in waiting rooms. I love to put them in baby changing tables at restaurants, supermarkets, and airports (they are a wonderful place to leave magazines). You pop in the magazine and it is waiting for the next mother who comes to change her baby.
A really great idea is to write a lovely little note in nice writing. Here are some examples:

Be encouraged Mama!
Put the paper in the magazine with a plastic bag over it and tape it neatly. I have a sealer so I can seal them nicely. Then you can leave it anywhere.
Now you’ve got this idea, you’ll need more magazines. You are welcome to write and ask for more. I am happy to send them to you if you are willing to spread them around. It’s time to flood the nation with God’s truth instead of all the propaganda and humanistic junk with which we are bombarded!

THEY GROW UP TOO QUICKLY
I am sure you feel the same way. Awhile back I said Happy Birthday to my oldest son who was 55 years old! It’s like a blink of my eye since the day he was born!
I’m sure you enjoyed the picture of some of our grandsons on the front cover of the last issue, #96. It was only six years since we took the picture of the same boys when they loved to be little cowboys. And now more events have happened in their lives since we took this latest picture.
JIREH JOHNSON MARRIED ALYVIA and they are now eagerly expecting a little baby in April 2020. We all went down to Florida for the wedding of Jireh and Alyvia. I love weddings. But did you know that God loves them too? When God’s blessing is upon a nation, He talks about weddings.
Jeremiah 33:11 describes it: “The voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that shall say, Praise the LORD of hosts: for the LORD is good; for his mercy endureth forever.”
The Hebrew word for “joy” is sasown and means “cheerfulness, joy, mirth, and rejoicing.” The Hebrew word for “gladness” is simchah and means “exceeding gladness and joyfulness, pleasure, and mirth.” Wow, you can’t get much more joy than this, can you? This is the joy God has about a young man and a virgin being joined together. This is the joy we have as we celebrate with them.
The opposite is not so good. When God’s judgment is upon the land He says that He will cause the voice of joy and gladness of the bride and bridegroom to “cease from the cities of Judah, and from the streets of Jerusalem” (Jeremiah 7:34; 16:9; 25:10; and Revelation 18:23). This doesn’t say much for couples putting off marriage and for many who just live together. And this is happening even in the so-called Christian church. This is not God’s plan, nor is it biblical.
According to the most recent estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau, the average age of first marriage for women is 27.4 years and 29.5 years for men. That's the longest Americans have ever waited to get married. It may seem normal for many people, but it is not God’s plan for marriage. He talks in the Bible about “young men” and “virgins” getting married. That’s God’s plan. God didn’t arouse the desire for the opposite sex when young people are in their late twenties. It is at a much younger age! And just think of the beautiful child-bearing years in the twenties—all wasted!
Of course, I’m talking about those who deliberately don’t get married. I’m not talking about all those precious wonderful young ladies who are STILL WAITING. Oh, it is sad. Where are the young men who are mature and ready to take responsibility to begin a home and family? There are so few today. I have so many names of these wonderful young women in my prayer box.
There is such a turning away from God’s way. The number of single Americans living with their partners was 18 million in 2016. Most probably more now!
I was reading Proverbs 18:22 this morning: “Whoso findeth a wife findeth a GOOD thing (the word “thing” is not in the original Hebrew) and obtained favor of the LORD.” The Young’s Literal Translation says: “Whoso hath found a wife hath found GOOD, and bringeth out GOOD-WILL from Jehovah.”
I love the Passion translation:
“When a man finds a wife,
He has found a treasure!
For she is the gift of God
To bring him joy and pleasure.”
This is actually a correct translation because the Hebrew word “favor” is ratson and means “delight and pleasure.”
BOWEN AND KAHORU BARRETT were blessed with a baby boy in January. Oh my, he is now nine months and such a bonny little boy. And Kahoru is such a beautiful and radiant mother, basking in the joys of motherhood. You have to go to Kahoru’s Instagram (kahorualiisa_)to keep watching all these adorable pictures of Finn.

And HOT OFF THE PRESS. On the 29th September ARDEN AND ESTHER ALLISON were blessed with their little miracle girl, GETHSEMANE ELIANA. Many of you prayed for Arden when he was in his darkest hours of stage 4 cancer. Three years ago, they hoped to come home from their honeymoon with a “honeymoon pregnancy.” They both come from big families and both love children. Instead, they came home to receive the diagnosis that Arden had Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. God has been so good to bring him through to health and wholeness and now three years later God has blessed them with a little baby girl.
ROCKLYN BARRETT is now courting Mary Beth Duke from Alabama who recently came to be an Above Rubies girl! This seems to keep happening, doesn’t it? We are all so happy about this couple.
MEADOW HALL
I actually had to delete BARRETT and remember to write HALL. Can you believe it, after all these years I’ll still write EVANGELINE CAMPBELL or SERENE CAMPBELL instead of their married names. And yet they are now grandmothers!
I know you enjoyed reading Meadow’s article on pages 8 and 9 about a young mother’s viewpoint on having children. Her husband Kendall is an engineer at Nissan and has now been posted to Japan for a year, so Meadow is adjusting to a new life over there. The Lord is blessing them with their second baby, also due in April 2020.
Kendall and Meadow recently celebrated their third wedding anniversary. I’m sure you’d love to read Meadow’s thoughts of her first years of marriage:
MY TRUE IDENTITY
“Three years ago we entered this covenant relationship called marriage . . . how much growing has happened since then! While the honeymoon season was exciting and sweet and filled with so much joy, I'm so glad I'm not the same person I was back then.
I was an insecure wife. I had the most affectionate and loving husband who adored me, but that did not cure my insecurity. This was because my identity was in the wrong place. No matter how much my husband assured me, I kept buying the lie that many women believe these days that I will never "be enough.”
This past year, God has been showing me where my true identity lies. Even though it's wonderful that my husband finds me beautiful and loves me, my value does not come from what my husband or others think of me. It comes from what God says about me, and who He created me to be.
Now that I don't have to look to my husband to find my value and worth, I can just love him, truly love him. Insecurity is so selfish. Sometimes we think it's humility, but it's really keeping our eyes on ourselves, instead of becoming love.
A few months ago, I told my husband, "I'm so sorry I've been insecure for so long. That wasn't loving to you."
Marriage isn't about having your needs fulfilled by someone else. It isn't about finding your value. Marriage isn't even 50/50. Marriage is "I love you." It isn't "I love you; do you love me too?"
My husband is such a blessing to me. I'm still amazed that I got to marry him. I think about how much God must love me to give me such a wonderful gift as him, but that's exactly what he is for me. He's my gift. But I am only fulfilled by Christ. And when two people are fulfilled by Christ, there are no more false expectations you put on your spouse.
I'm so thankful God is showing me how to love Kendall more. I know I have more to learn, but He is creating a work in me.

Already, there have been over 61 million babies aborted since Roe v. Wade. We must keep working to wipe out Roe v. Wade. As you look at the statistics, your stomach will sink. It is hard to take it in. But it encourages us to keep up the fight for life.

Did you notice I wrote the words, sacred AND secular, rather than sacred OR secular? God does not separate religious things with secular things. He wants everything in our lives to be touched with His divine presence. He wants everything in our homes—each person, each piece of furniture, and even all the pots and pans and utensils to be anointed with His presence (Zechariah 14:20, 21).
Everything that God created is holy. All His creation is holy. God doesn’t see a church building as holy and the trees and flowers as earthly. They are all holy unto Him. They all praise Him.
In Exodus chapter 30:22-33, God tells Moses how to make the anointing oil and what to do with it. They had to use a gallon of olive and oil and four different spices—pure myrrh, sweet cinnamon, sweet calamus, and cassia. It was well-balanced—two sweet spices along with myrrh which is bitter tasting. Myrrh and cassia speak of the fragrance of Christ through His suffering.
But most importantly, this oil was to be holy! It was called the HOLY ANOINTING OIL. Verse 32 states: “It is holy, and it shall be holy unto you.” And God commanded him to anoint every piece of furniture and every vessel in the whole place—and the high priest and his sons.
One of the pieces of furniture in the tabernacle was the table of shewbread. This table had to be anointed with this holy anointing oil too.
Everything in the tabernacle was a type for us today. God has now made us “priests and kings unto God” (Revelation 1:6 and 5:10) and therefore He wants us to be anointed with this sweet and holy anointing oil which is presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives. He also wants every material thing in our homes to be anointed with His presence. He wants our tables to be anointed with His sweet and holy anointing.
You most probably feel that your dinner table is the opposite to sweet and holy! You are in throes of raising and training children who are not robots. They don’t like their food. They complain. Some may argue. They cry. Sometimes it’s bedlam!
Please don’t despair dear mother. Keep training. Keep praying and asking God to pour out His sweet anointing on your family meal times. Pray for His holy anointing to come to you. You will reap what you sow. As you little by little train your children and they grow older, you will move into such blessed and holy times together.
Without a vision nothing happens. But when we have a vision and we understand that God wants to come to our tables and manifest His sweet and holy anointing, we will press toward this vision in our family lives.

STRENGTHEN YOUR FAMILY – THE MOST POWERFUL THING YOU CAN DO EACH DAY!
May God abundantly bless you. Keep strengthening your marriage and family. I believe this is the greatest thing we can do in this hour. While thousands of homes are crumbling, you can do the opposite. You can build into your marriage and home and tighten up every loose end. As you plan your days and make decisions for you family keep this in mind: Put your heart into whatever will strengthen your marriage and family. If it will weaken your family, don’t do it. It’s as simple as that.
