CHARACTER TRANSFORMATION

CharacterTransformLife is a learning process, isn’t it? We don’t stop learning when we become an adult. I find that I learn every day. Hopefully something new every day. Often a new revelation of truth but also learning how to walk a life pleasing to God. That means I will often receive correction, from God, and even from others.

It’s not always easy to receive correction but it is a good thing. It helps us to mature. It helps us to grow in the likeness of Christ. How do we receive instruction? By keeping a soft and tender heart.

To keep a tender heart toward our husbands is the blessing of a good marriage. The Bible tells us that divorce happens through the “hardness of heart” (Matthew 19:6-9). We must always guard against a hard heart.

To keep a tender heart is the blessing of a peaceful life.

To keep a tender heart leads us to righteousness. Hebrews 12:11 (HCSB) says: “No discipline seems enjoyable at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it yields the fruit of peace and righteousness to those who have been trained by it.”

We train our children by instruction and discipline. But we are also continually trained as we receive instruction and correction.

I love the TPT translation which says: “Now all discipline seems to be more pain than pleasure at the time, yet later it will produce a TRANSFORMATION OF CHARACTER, bringing a harvest of righteousness and peace to those who yield to it.”

Don’t you love those words? TRANSFORMATION OF CHARACTER! Do you want this for your own life? Do you want this for your children’s lives? I know we all do. It comes with YIELDING— yielding to the disciplines of life, instruction from the Word, and correction from people in our lives.

Let’s keep soft and tender hearts.

LOVE THE RED SHOES

RedShoesEvery morning, I receive the new email from the J6 PRAYING GRANDMA (www.RestoringGodlyCulture.com). It’s always so inspiring.

This morning, I looked at Rebecca’s picture and immediately noticed her red shoes. I was just going to email back and say, “I love your red shoes,” when I noticed the ankle monitor!

Yes, Rebecca Lavrenz (the 72-year-old great-grandmother) has now received her sentence for walking into the people’s capital on January 6. When Rebecca saw the doors opened and people being welcomed in, she of course followed. She walked around for about 10 minutes and then walked out!

Praise God, she did not receive a prison sentence. Instead, her sentence is:
• Six months house arrest, her ankle monitor, monitoring her every move.
• Twelve months' probation.
• Banned from Internet. She can no longer communicate, bank, shop, manage her Bed & Breakfast reservations or Facetime her grandchildren. This is an order that is usually only applied to child sex offenders.
• A whopping $103.000.00 fine! The largest fine ever handed down for a misdemeanor.

This is a stiffer sentence than the notorious Ray Epps!

Rebecca can no longer write her daily inspiration letter, but it is still continuing with her four grown children. You’ll love to receive it.

Her daughter, Laura (who works with the Trump campaign) wrote today: “Upon seeing the above photo of my mom leaving the District Court in Colorado Springs today, with her new government-controlled ankle monitor, I was immediately filled with frustration.

This isn’t right!

Under our current administration, violent criminals have freely entered our southern border, college students have vandalized their campuses without repercussions, and individuals who hate our country have burned the American flag for all to see . . . And yet, a praying grandma gets confinement.

But then I look at the photo again, and what do I see? A photo of someone with a smile on her face because she's graceful and fearless. Someone who exemplifies Paul the Apostle, who was on house arrest (Acts 28:16) by being a bondservant for Christ (Romans 1:1). For JOY she takes up her cross daily. Her life is not her own!”

Pray for Rebecca during this time. Pray for this nation where freedom of speech is being shut down! Pray against this current administration that want to wipe out our First Amendment.

After Rebecca’s original conviction in April, Rebecca said God spoke to her heart that He was now going to amplify her voice. God opened up doors all over the nation for her to speak on national Talk Shows and podcasts. The government's admission that the “J6 praying grandma has been one of the loudest public voices" confirmed to her that God did what he said He would do! But they are determined to shut her down! No more free speech for Rebecca!

Although Rebecca can no longer speak or write her J6 PRAYING GRANDMA daily newsletter, it will still continue, written each day by one of her four grown children. Go to https://restoringgodlyculture.com/

NEVER GIVE UP THE FIGHT

NeverGiveUpFightOne day we will live in a world where there is no sin. What a glorious day that will be. But we don’t live there yet. We live in a world of unrighteousness. Deception and corruption are all around us, from our government on downwards. Unrighteousness creeps into our homes and even our hearts.

2 Peter 3:13 says: “We look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.”

We long for the new earth. But in the meantime, we are in this world to overcome. We dare not succumb to the evil around us. We cannot be apathetic, mediocre, ordinary, or middle of the road. We dare not be tolerant of evil as so much of the church is today. If we accept the status quo, we will become victims.

Instead, we are to be overcomers. We must fight the good fight of faith. Fight against the darkness and deception. Constantly fight against evil. Hate it. Abhor it. Never tolerate it.

What did Jesus say? “The kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force” (Matthew 11:12). Jesus came to “destroy the works of the devil” (1 John 3:8) and He now dwells in us to continue to destroy his works.

Dear mothers, it begins in our homes. As mothers we must walk in the beautiful anointing of the gentle nurturer and nourisher. But there is another side to motherhood. It is the mother who fights like a “mother bear” to protect her children from the enemy. She does not sit idly by and let her children be taken captives by the devil. She is a watch dog. She is on the war path. She stands up against all unrighteousness. She pushes back the darkness and deception from her home. She is “awesome as an army with banners” (Song 6:10).

We cannot give up this fight until we meet Jesus and enter the world where there is no unrighteousness. But we prepare for this world by overcoming evil now. The promises and the crowns are for the overcomers.

Be encouraged, dear mother. Don’t give up. You are gentle, yet strong. You are a nurturer, yet a warrior. You are the heart of your home, but a devil destroyer.

Blessings from Nancy Campbell

THERE’S NOTHING STOPPING YOU!

NothingStoppingThere is only one Scripture in the Bible where it says that there is no law to stop you! You’re free! Not a person can stop you, except yourself.

Yes, you know the Scripture in Galatians 5:22 (RSV): “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such THERE IS NO LAW." Isn’t that wonderful?

These are the graces we want to pour into our home. These are the fruits we want to exhibit in our lives. And isn’t it wonderful? There is nothing stopping us except when we yield to our fleshly nature.
We don’t have these things in our own selfish nature. But they are in Christ. They are the picture of who

Christ is and He dwells in us. When we are born again and He dwells in our hearts, He wants to fill our lives with these attributes.

Are you feeling lousy and upset? Your joy has gone out the window? What’s happening? You are giving into your feelings and fleshly nature. Remember, Christ dwells in you and His nature is joy. Begin to acknowledge and confess the joy of the Lord. It is a greater truth than your feelings.

Do you feel like screaming at your children? That’s your flesh. But Christ dwells in you. Acknowledge His presence. Confess out loud: “Thank you, Jesus that You live in me, and You are filled with patience and longsuffering. Thank You for Your patience that fills my life. I’m walking in Your patience right now. Amen.”

Remember, no one is stopping you. Only your own will. We either yield to the flesh or yield to the Holy Spirit. You are free to do it and live in the fulness of the life of Christ which is His abundant life.

Don’t let the devil win in your home today. Don’t let anger, temper, unforgiveness, worry, fretting, or misery rob you.

THE BEAUTIFUL LIFE

BeautifulLifeThe Greek word for teacher in the Bible is “didaskalos.” However, when the Bible tells the older women to be “teachers of good things” to the younger women, the word used is “kalodidaskalos.” This word means to be not only a teacher but a teacher of lovely and beautiful things.

I wonder why many women want to teach men or want to teach the doctrines of the Bible that God has given the men to teach, when all the while, God has given them an even greater teaching ministry! The word given to women takes it up a step more! We are to teach the beautiful things. How wonderful.

Sadly, most older women have gone AWOL on the mandate God has given to them. And if they have taken up the role of teacher, they have not embraced the role of teaching “the beautiful things.”

These beautiful things are all to do with marriage and the home—being a keeper at home and loving our husbands and children. Even submission to our husband is a beautiful thing.

1 Peter 3:5 (GW) says: “This is how holy women who had confidence in God EXPRESSED THEIR BEAUTY in the past. They placed themselves under their husbands’ authority as Sarah did.”

The J. B. Phillip’s trans. says: “This was the SECRET OF THE BEAUTY of the holy women of ancient times who trusted I God and were submissive to their husbands.”

The TBP trans. of Titus 2:5 says that when the older women teach these beautiful things, and the younger women embrace them that it is “A GOOD ADVERTISEMENT FOR THE CHRISTIAN FAITH.”

Enjoy your beautiful life today,

YOU CAN STOP A WHOLE DYNASTY!

NoAccidentsWe often forget that when a mother aborts a baby, or even stops the life of another baby coming into the world through contraception, it is not only one baby she stops! It is a dynasty! For that baby will most likely grow up to get married and have babies and her children will have babies and continue down the generations.

IT’S NOT ONLY THE STOPPING OF ONE LIFE, BUT MANY, MANY LIVES! And think of the many and amazing things these people could do to change the world throughout their lives.

May people’s eyes be opened to truth.

CONFIDENTLY EXPECTING GOOD THINGS

ConfidentlyExpectingDo you find it hard to trust the Lord? The Hebrew word for trust also includes the meaning of hope. It is not a constant anxiety but a confident expectation!

Read what God says will happen to you when you put your trust in the Lord. Read these promises now but when you get time, you’ll want to look up the Scriptures in your Bible and read them over again, mediate on them, and share them with your children.

You will not be afraid (Psalm 56:3, 4, 11; 91:2-10; 112:7, 8 and Isaiah 12:2).
You will not be ashamed (Psalm 25:2, 20; 31:1 and 71:1).
You will not be condemned (Psalm 34:22).
You will not be disgraced (Psalm 22:5).
You will not be shaken (Psalm 21:7 and 125:1).
You will be blessed (Psalm 2:12; 34:8; 40:4; 84:12 and Jeremiah 17:7).
You will be a fruitful tree even in drought (Jeremiah 17:8).
You will be happy (Proverbs 16:20).
You will rejoice and shout for joy (Psalm 5:11; 28:7 and 33:21).
You will be safe and secure (Proverbs 29:25).
God will know you and care for you (Nahum 1:7).
God will act on your behalf (Psalm 37:5).
God will be your buckler (Psalm 18:30).
God will cover (protect and shelter) you (Psalm 5:11 and 91:2, 4).
God will deliver you (Psalm 21:4, 5; 37:39, 40; 91:2, 3; and Jeremiah 39:17, 18).
God will help you (1 Chronicles 5:20; Psalm 28:7; 37:39, 40 and 115:9-11).
God will preserve you (Psalm 16:1).
God will save you from those who rise up against you (Psalm 17:7 and 86:2).
God will be your shield (Psalm 18:30; 115:9-11 and Proverbs 30:5).
God will store up His goodness for you (Psalm 31:19).

Don’t these Scriptures cause you to say, “Thank you, Lord”?

Blessings to you today,

A WIFE’S MISSION

WifesMissionA WIFE’S MISSION
by J. A. James (1838).

“The Lord God said, ‘It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him’” (Genesis 2:18).

Woman's mission is to be the suitable help-mate of that man, to whom she has given herself as the companion of his pilgrimage upon earth.

She is, in wedded life, to be his constant companion, in whose companionship he is to find one, who meets him . . .
hand to hand,
eye to eye,
lip to lip,
and heart to heart.

To whom he can unburden the secrets of a heart pressed down with care, or wrung with anguish;
whose presence shall be to him above all other friendship;
whose voice shall be his sweetest music;
whose smiles his brightest sunshine;
from whom he shall go forth with regret;
and to whose company he shall return with willing feet, when the toils of the day are over;
who shall walk near his loving heart, and feel the throbbing of affection as her arm leans on his, and presses on his side.

In his hours of private companionship, he shall tell her all the secrets of his heart; find in her all the capabilities, and all the promptings, of the most tender and endeared fellowship; and in her gentle smiles, and unrestrained speech, enjoy all to be expected in one who was given by God to be his companion and friend.

That companionship which woman was designed to afford to man, must of course be included the sympathetic offices of the comforter.

It is hers, in their hours of retirement, to console and cheer him;
when he is injured or insulted, to heal the wounds of his troubled spirit;
when burdened by care, to lighten his load by sharing it;
when groaning with anguish, to calm by her peace-speaking words the tumult
of his heart;
and act, in all his sorrows, the part of a ministering angel.

UNTO THE END

UntoTheEndYesterday we talked about how we and our children must be grounded in the faith. For a few months? For a few years? No, we must be steadfast until the end.

Let’s discover what God says in His Word. I would encourage you to share these Scriptures with your children, reminding them that this is why we read God’s word each day—so that we will be encouraged to keep faithful unto the end! It’s the end that counts! In fact, we should be growing stronger and stronger in the ways of the Lord each new day. We may begin weak, but we cannot end up strong. Ecclesiastes 7:8 says: “Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof.”

Matthew 24:13: “But he that shall endure UNTO THE END, the same shall be saved.”

Philippians 1:1: “That ye may be sincere and without offense TILL THE DAY OF CHRIST.” (Mark 13:13).

1 Thessalonians 5:23: “I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless UNTO THE COMING OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST.”

1 Corinthians 1:8 (NRSV): “He will also STRENGTHEN YOU TO THE END, so that you may be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

1 Thessalonians 3:13 (BSB): “So that He may ESTABLISH your hearts in blamelessness and holiness before our God and Father AT THE COMING OF OUR LORD JESUS with all His saints.”

Hebrews 3:6: “Christ as a son over his own house; whose house we are, if we HOLD FAST the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope FIRM UNTO THE END.”

Hebrews 3:14: “For we are made partakers of Christ, if we HOLD the beginning of our confidence STEADFAST UNTO THE END.”

Hebrews 6:11: “Shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope UNTO THE END.”

Hebrews 10:23: “Let us HOLD FAST the confession of our faith WITHOUT WAVERING.”

1 Peter 1:13: “Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope TO THE END.” We must never give up hope. Even when things look bleak and hopeless, we hang on to hope and faith UNTIL THE END.

Jesus said in Revelation 2:25: “But that which ye have already HOLD FAST TILL I COME.”

Revelation 2:26: “He that overcometh, and keepeth my works UNTO THE END, to him will I give power over the nations.”

May you be blessed today,

GROUNDED AND FOUNDED

GroundedI have been amazed to discover how much the New Testament exhorts us to stand strong and not waver, to be steadfast, and to hold fast to that which we have learned. As I looked up all these Scriptures, I found 25 different Greek words that are used to instruct us in this godly attribute. I won’t bog you down with them all in this post but let me give you some Scriptures.

Ephesians 3:17: “That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith that ye being ROOTED and GROUNDED in love . . . “

Colossians 1:23: “If ye CONTINUE in the faith, GROUNDED and SETTLED (the word means FOUNDED on a foundation of truth), and BE NOT MOVED AWAY from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard . . .” Do you notice four different exhortations in this Scripture?

Colossians 2:7: “ROOTED and built up in him, and ESTABLISHED in the faith, as ye have been taught.”

God wants us to be rooted and grounded in His truth. He wants our children to be rooted and grounded. How do we make this happen. I notice the answer in Colossians 2:7: “as ye have been taught.” The only way we are grounded is as the Word of God gets into us. Yes, did you notice I said, “INTO us”?

And we’ve got to get it into our children. That doesn’t happen by taking them to church or Sunday School once a week. We must diligently get it into them day by day (little by little and precept upon precept). They can’t take it in all at once, but every day we hound and pound the wonderful truths of the Word into their souls. This is what makes them grounded and founded. Yes, the Word must be pounded and hounded into them.

The word “hound” means to “relentlessly pursue and the word “pound” means “to strike repeatedly.”

So now you’ve got the secret, dear mothers. For your children to be grounded and founded in the truths of God’s word, they must be hounded and pounded each new day! Then they’ll have the testimony of the young men in 1 John 2:14: “I have written unto you young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.”

Be blessed today,

Nancy Campbell

THE NEW AND THE OLD

NewnOldAt our family devotions this morning, Colin asked us to sing, “Burn, fire of God.” It’s amazing how he thinks of hymns he may not have sung since his single days. I will type the words for you below as they are so powerful and there are so many references to Scripture in the words of the hymn.

We sing the current worship songs at our church services, but at our family devotions morning and evening, we love to sing the hymns. By our dining room table, I have a pile of hymn books (plus our Prayer Boxes). We also have three sets of “Hymns We Love to Sing” which I have put together.

We love the hymns because they are filled with such truth, doctrine, and depth. Personally, I think it is important to sing the old and the new. Some folks never accept the new. Others forget the old. It is so sad that so many of our current generation don’t know any of the great old hymns.

I love the Scripture in Matthew 13:52 which says: “Therefore every scribe which is instructed in the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is a householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things NEW AND OLD.” So we love to do both.

This song is sung to the tune of “O perfect love, all human thought transcending” which is the hymn we sang at our wedding. And most of our children used it at their weddings too. In fact, back in our day, it was sung at most weddings. It was lovely to sing the beautiful tune again but with these amazing words.

BURN, FIRE OF GOD

Burn, fire of God! my ransomed soul possessing;
Pure fire Thou art, and I would dwell in Thee.
Light of my life, true source of every blessing,
Grant all my days one holy flame to be.

Burn, fire of God! Thy grace and glory knowing,
My cleansèd heart shall be all fire within—
Love all constraining, tenderness o'erflowing,
One kindling passion other lives to win.

Burn, fire of God! Thy cloven tongue bestowing,
Baptizing me with heavenly energy.
Touched with live coals from off Thine altar glowing,
My purgèd lips shall speak alone of Thee.

Burn, fire of God! with seven-fold refining,
Till, mirrored from my deeps Thine eyes shall see
In purest gold Thy perfect image shining:
Thy Christ revealed in clear irradiancy.

Burn, fire of God! by Thine own love transcending,
Let all I hold be Thine, and Thine alone—
Heart, mind and will a sacrifice ascending,
Consumed by fire from out Thy fiery Throne.
