ONLY SO LONG
Only so many messes,
Diapers and strollers won't stay.
Not very many lullaby songs
Til you've grown and gone your way.
Only a short time to teach you,
To know of God's love for you;
To trust Him and seek Him for everything,
To follow His call for you.
Too soon the day is coming
When toys are all stored away;
When our home that's been your shelter
Won't be the place you'll stay.
So I will savor these moments,
Even the trying times too,
Knowing that one of God's greatest gifts
Has been the pleasure of raising you.
