GROVELING OR SOURING?

Are you groveling or soaring? Colossians 3:2,3 Way’s translation says: “Let your thoughts dwell on things above, not grovel on the earth.” God does not want us to grovel in self-pity and depression. He wants us to gird up the loins of our minds (I Peter 1:13).

In Bible days the men wore long robes. When they worked, they had to pull up their long robes and tuck them in their belt. This was called girding. In the same way, we must gird up our minds and cast off all negative thoughts that hinder us from walking in victory.

Negative, self-pitying, and unbelieving thoughts constantly come to your mind! BUT YOU DON'T HAVE TO ENTERTAIN THEM! YOU DON'T HAVE TO GROVEL IN THEM!

Because God has created us as females to be nurturers, this is something we naturally do. God wants us to nurture our children, our families, and those who need our help. However, we can often use our nurturing anointing in a negative way and begin nurturing our fears, self-pity, anger, jealousy, and so on. Instead of casting them out in the name of Jesus, we tenderly care for them, think about them, and make them bigger and bigger in our minds.

Don’t get into this habit. Rebuke these negatives in the name of Jesus. Praise the Lord. Quote Scripture verses out loud.

Live in victory today,
