YOU ARE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD, NO. 2

John 1:4: “In him was life; and the life was the light of men.”

Men, life is so crucial to light. Without life there can be no light. Even in the natural, if there was no life in the sun there would be no light emanating from it. A dead star is called a pulsar--whatever gases it originally had have been burned up and the light has gone out. It is now a dead body or mass roaming around the heavens without any apparent purpose.

We thank God that the sun still rises and sets faithfully as the earth circles around it. Without the sun shining there would be no life on earth for most things require light to live. How amazing it is that even in creation God ordains divine illustrations of how we Christians should be exposed to Jesus Christ who is like the Sun of our world, remaining steadfast and unmovable, while the earth and our solar system revolves around it.

Jesus Christ is indeed the center of the Christian’s universe. How absolutely important it is to keep exposing ourselves to His life and light. We should not hold any area of our lives back from exposure to His light. Jesus’ life gives light to all those who receive it. John 1:9 states: “That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.”

Proverbs 20:27: “The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly.” God has given to every man a spirit (candle), but only Christ can light it. The devil who masquerades as an “angel of light” cannot light the candle of man’s spirit. The devil’s light is false and paradoxically only brings darkness and deception. Hence, all other religions that do not expose themselves to the Son of God cannot be true light in order to light up the world.

If we do not not expose ourselves willingly to the life and light of Christ, we cannot be the manifested sons of God doing His good deeds.

John 3:19-21: “And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.”

Be encouraged.
