THE PATIENCE TEST, NO. 2

Patience2Patience is indeed a great virtue. In my last post I mentioned how David did not fail the patient test when waiting for God to deal with King Saul. He was prepared to wait for what God had anointed him to come to pass in His timing.

Men, impatience should not be taken lightly or glossed over. Impatience has the potential to wreck relationships. It has destroyed marriages and families. It has brought about defeat in battles. Even churches have been destroyed by impatience. Successful business ventures have failed because of impatience. Many mounting climbing tragedies have been caused by impatience.

David became angry when the wealthy man, Nabal, would not make even a small offering to David and his men for protecting his livestock in the mountain area of Carmel (1 Samuel 25). David would have avenged himself by his own hand, but was spared from doing so through the godly advice of Abigail, Nabal's wife.

It is always a great victory when we have patience and let God bring about the vengeance for God slew Nabal a few days later. Hebrews 10:30: "For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people." Check out Deuteronomy 32:35, 36.

Proverbs 16:32: "He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city."

Be encouraged.
