ARE YOU FILLING UP THE PAGES?

BookRememberanceWhat do you love to do when you get together with other believers? What do you love to talk about it?

Malachi 3:16 says, "Then they that feared the Lord spake often one to another: and the Lord hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the Lord, and that thought upon his name." This Scripture is a beautiful picture of the saints fellowshipping together. Not gossiping together, but discussing God's Word and sharing testimonies with one another of His goodness and daily mercies to us.

I am always excited to learn more of the Scriptures and love to hear what others are discovering.

"What has God been saying to you lately?" I sometimes ask. Blank stares. No reply.

"What book are you reading in the Bible at present?" Once again, no reply.

We are always eager to talk about what is on our heart, aren't we? Therefore, if we are thinking about the Lord, don't you think we'll want to talk about Him? As we receive new understanding from reading God's Word each day, we'll be keen to share it. So, why the silence?

Surely, as believers, we are not talking more about movies, concerts, shopping, clothes, and everything else but God and His Word.

Will our pages in God's Book of Remembrance be blank, or are we filling them up? Will there lots be written about your family life?

STIR UP THE POT

StirUpPotWhen we find someone believing a lie, what do we do? When someone is going astray, what do we do? Most times, we prefer to say or do nothing. We don't like to interfere. We don't want to be thought of someone who is condemning or legal, so we keep quiet. We don’t want people to think negatively about us.

But is this what God wants us to do? Proverbs 28:4 says: "They that forsake the law praise the wicked; but such as keep the law contend with them." The Hebrew word for "contend" is “garah” and means "to meddle, to stir up." In other words, stir up the pot!

Is it loving to leave someone in deception? Is it loving to not rescue someone who is going in the wrong direction? (Read Jude 1:23). How can we change society if we stay silent? God wants us to invade society with His truth. He wants His people to show the way. He wants us to shine His light into the darkness, not hide our light (Matthew 5:13-16).

This doesn't mean we become condemning. A great way to challenge people's thinking is to ask them questions. Ask them why they think the way they do. Ask them about their worldview.

What happens when you ask this innocent question: “Are you planning on having any more children?” This nice little question can often receive a negative and vehement answer! I wonder why some folks can have such a reaction about something that is a gift from God. I think it is because it is a spiritual battle between light and darkness.

But don’t get upset. Smile lovingly. And ask another question? It will open open the way to gently speak God’s truth into their lives. Christian and non-Christians are constantly bombarded with a secular and humanistic worldview and we have a responsibility to redirect their thinking back to God's way.

Jude 1:3 exhorts us to “earnestly contend for the faith.” And of course, our first accountability is to our children. We must constantly seek to keep them in the truth.

Don't hide your light. And don't forget to smile at people when you stir up the pot!

DRIFTING WITH THE CURRENT

DriftingWe don’t have to do one thing to drift with the current, do we? It happens without our doing anything. We can lay back and relax and watch the world go by.

Hebrews 2:1 (Weymouth) says: “For this reason we ought to pay the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, for fear we should drift away from them.” Drifting is an unconscious process. Westcott comments, “We are all continually exposed to the action of currents of opinion, habit, action, which tend to carry us away insensibly from the position which we ought to maintain.”

Conversely, it takes concerted effort and untiring strength, conviction, and purpose to go in the right direction, which most times is against the current of this world.

Are you living against the grain of this society? Keep standing strong. Don’t be intimidated. Don’t cave in to the easy way. You may receive scoffing and contempt from family members and people around you but put your shoulders back and lift your head. You are on God’s course! Your end is “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” Your disdainers are deceived and deliriously drifting on dangerous currents.

And please, do everything in your power to keep your children from drifting in the current of this world. That’s why so many Christian parents take their children out of the public education system. It’s not only the lack of godly teaching they receive, but the influence of their peers. Children, and especially teenagers, want to be in the groove. They want to be like everyone else around them. Therefore, it’s easy for them to drift toward the behavior of their peers.

You can be the godliest parents, but if your children get in the wrong company, it becomes a stronger influence than you. This is not God’s plan. You as the parents should be the strongest influence in their lives. Don’t hand over your influence and God-given responsibility.

GOD HEALS BROKEN LIVES

HeRestoresThere are so many hurting people, not only poor people who are struggling, but those who are affluent. Many of their lives are broken and crushed too. Their marriages are tearing apart. And again, some of these are in the church, and sometimes even in leadership.

And yet God is waiting to heal. He is the healer of broken lives. When Jesus went into the synagogue at Nazareth, He picked up the scroll and read from Isaiah: "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he that anointed me . . . to heal the brokenhearted" (Isaiah 61:1-3 and Luke 4:16-19). The word "brokenhearted" is talking about those whose lives are shattered and broken to shivers.

You may be feeling utterly crushed. Your life is broken in little bits and you can't imagine how to get it back together again. Dear hurting one, God waits to heal and restore you. Lay your life before Him and let Him come in with His light, His love, His healing balm, and His restoring anointing. He will do it, little by little, if you let Him. Allow His living Word to heal you (Psalm 107:20). Your circumstances may not change right away, but God will heal your soul.

You cannot cope with life unless your soul is whole. Let Him come in and flood your life. His love will enable you to forgive, to let go of hurt and bitterness, and to be healed and restored. Take hold of the truth in Psalm 23:3. “Thank you, dear Father, that You restore my soul.”

He is the only true restorer of the soul.

Be blessed today,

Nancy Campbell

NEVER GOING UNDER

NeverLeaveYouDo you always seem to be facing some challenge? Forever going through a difficulty? Can't pay the bills?

Can I share a little secret with you? It's actually Paul's secret. He was constantly facing hardships, beatings, shipwrecks, imprisonments, and suffering, but what did he confess? "Always 'going through it' yet never 'going under'" (2 Corinthians 6:9 JBP). He goes on to say in verse 10, "We know sorrow, yet our joy is inextinguishable. We have 'nothing to bless ourselves with' yet we bless many others with true riches. We are penniless, and yet in reality we have everything worth having."

I love the NEB translation: “Penniless, we own the world.”

No matter what you go through, you don't have to go under. Well, you may, if you trust in yourself and your own resources. But, when you put your trust in God, He will not fail you. He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5-6). He is bigger than your difficulties. No problem is too big for Him to handle. Trust Him.

Trust Him when dark days assail thee,
Trust Him when thy faith is small,
Trust Him when to simply trust Him
Is the hardest thing of all.

When all seems dark around you, the Lord will be your light. Even in the raging torrent He says to you, "For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not, I will help thee" (Isaiah 41:10). Even if you fall, you still can't go under. His everlasting arms are waiting to catch you and hold you (Deuteronomy 33:27).

Keep trusting,

LEANING

LeaningWomen are incited to be independent today. They don’t need a man. They don’t need God. They can run their own lives.

But independence is an ugly thing. It was the spirit of independence that drove Satan out from the glory of God in heaven. He didn’t want to submit to God. He wanted to be his own God. Isaiah 14:13-15 tells us his attitude: “I will exalt my throne above the stars of God . . . I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.”

In the Song of Solomon, we see a picture of the bride of Christ. It also speaks of the church and to us as individuals. She goes into the wilderness full of confidence and independence, but how does she come out? Song 8:5 says: “Who is this that cometh up from the wilderness, leaning upon her beloved?” She has now learned that her greatest blessing and power is to lean upon her Beloved.

We all have to learn this lesson, don’t we? When we first embark upon motherhood, we often begin with an independent spirit. We are still selfish and want to live our own life.

But God gently works in our hearts by His Holy Spirit. He deals with our pride and independence. As we face the challenges of motherhood from babyhood right through to their becoming young men and women we find we have no wisdom of our own. We are cast upon God. Unless we lean on Him for His wisdom, His strength, and His guidance we make a mess of everything.

Dependence upon God is to trust Him completely. He is bigger than every challenge we face. He is our Rock. No matter how hard we lean on Him, He will never fail us.

Let’s learn to be learners. “Dear Father, I lean on You today. I ask for Your wisdom. I rely on Your strength. I thank You that I can trust my whole life with You. Amen.”

The old hymn we love to sing encourages us to lean on the everlasting arms. His arms will never let us fall. Deuteronomy 33:27 promises us: “The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms.”

Another hymn says:
Just lean upon the arms of Jesus,
He’ll brighten the way, brighten the way;
Just follow gladly where He leadeth,
His gentle voice obey.

Lean on His arms, trusting in His love;
Lean on His arms, all His mercies prove;
Lean on His arms, looking home above,
Just lean on the Savior’s arms!

Will you lean upon Him today?

SAY AMEN

AmenWhen you pray in a prayer meeting or as a family together, do you ever go off in a daydream? I find it easy to do this. And yet I don’t want to. I want to be involved and agree with everyone who is praying. God answers prayers when we AGREE together (Matthew 18:19).

I find the best way to keep intensely involved in prayer with others is to say Amen when someone prays about something that also touches my heart. This really keeps my mind on the job. In fact, it’s an exciting prayer meeting when everyone agrees and says Amen. There’s nothing worse than a silent prayer meeting when half the people don’t open their mouths to pray and nobody agrees or says Amen with those who do pray.

I think it’s time to get earnest, don’t you? Let’s become effectual in our praying (James 5:16).

When the children of Israel first came into the Promised land they came to Mount Gerizim and Mount Ebal. Half of the tribes had to stand on Mount Gerizim and the other half on Mount Ebal. The Levites then had to speak the curses to Israel with A LOUD VOICE. God also commanded that after every statement all the people had to answer, AMEN (Deuteronomy 27:11-26).

After the Levites spoke each one of the twelve curses, they stopped, and all the people said AMEN!

God wanted them to say Amen for them to agree! But I am sure it also helped them to keep awake and attentive. It wasn’t just a few adults who were listening, but ALL the families of Israel, including the children. They wouldn’t have time to get into a daydream if they were waiting to say Amen after every declaration.

Do you do this in your family praying? Teach your children to be involved in what others are praying. To agree. To say Amen. To be involved in every prayer instead of giggling, talking, and fiddling!

I say Amen. What do you say?

DO YOU WANT REVIVAL?

IfWeWantI am desperate for revival? Are you? I guess we should first ask, what is revival? It is turning back to the original, the beginning! We need revival when we get away from the first things.

In Scripture the “law of the first mention” is very important. When God says something the first time in the Scriptures, we must take note. He lays the foundation for that truth. He may enlarge upon it throughout the Scriptures, but the first mention is the foundation. It must never be discounted.

When we get away from the first mention, we need to be revived to come back! Back to God’s plan. Back to the very first commandments He gave us. Back to His heart. Back to His first words.

We need to forever be coming back to our first love, don’t we? With all the distractions in our lives it’s so easy to get away from our first love for Jesus. There’s nothing more important than being in love with Jesus. This is the hub from which everything else in our life flows out. When we are in love with Jesus, we will love our husband and children and everyone around us.

Jesus spoke to the church at Ephesus in Revelation 2:4, 5: “Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.”

But we must also turn back to the very first statutes God gave is in His Word. Not one word of God is insignificant. Every word is eternal and life-changing.

We must come back to the very first words God spoke to the man and woman He created. Genesis 1:28: “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the earth.” God has never rescinded these words. They stand forever. If we discard them because we think we know better, we disobey God’s powerful and living Word. We certainly need a revival in the church to come back to these words, don’t we?

We must come back to marriage oneness. God’s eternal plan for marriage is that we are to be one. God’s first description of marriage is in Genesis 2:24: “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife, and they shall be one flesh.” We are not two people living in the same house but living our separate lives. We are joined in flesh, spirit, and vision to work together to build a strong marriage and family. It’s time to come back!

It’s time to come back to God’s heart for children. Malachi 4:4-6: “Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.”

This is one of the greatest revivals needed in the church today. Most of the church has no understanding of God’s plan for children. They limit the number of children in their family as much as the secular world. They have as little regard for the blessing as children as the world does.

This Scripture not only speaks about fathers turning their hearts to their one or two children, but turning their hearts back to the same attitude God has about children. To open their hearts to embrace children. To be fathers who are not afraid to trust God for their children.

We need to come back to believe in the God of the Bible. Many believe in a false God. They believe in a god who is only able to provide for one or two children. Any more would be too much for their god. This is not the God of the Bible.

When we will turn back to the God of the Bible?

This is what revival is about.

May you be blessed encouraged again today,

Nancy Campbell

IT IS WRITTEN

ItIsWrittenAre you ready to face the temptations of the devil? Are your children ready? A huge part of our mothering is preparing our children to face the onslaughts of the devil. For certainly the devil will come to tempt them. He wants their souls. Therefore, we must fortify them to withstand his fiery darts.

Jesus shows us the way. When Satan came to tempt Him in the wilderness, three times He said: “It is WRITTEN.” I am only realizing the enormity of this statement. When Jesus spoke aloud “It is WRITTEN” and quoted the Scripture, the devil knew he was defeated.

Every Word of God is powerful, authoritative, and eternal. The devil knows its power and must obey.

That’s why we must know God’s Word. That’s why we must diligently teach our children God’s Word. They must have the Word ready to use against the devil. Jesus was ready to quote the Word. Are we and our children?

Homeschooling children need God’s Word every day. His life-giving Word should be the most important thing they learn each day.

If there are Christian parents who are still sending their children into the public-school system to be subtly brain-washed by humanism, socialism, liberalism, progressivism, and now the gay agenda and alternative lifestyles, they need to give their children TRIPLE DOSES of God’s Word each day. Or how will they survive the deceptions of the enemy?

There is only way to make our children strong against temptation. 1 John 2:14 says: “I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the WORD OF GOD ABIDES IN YOU, and ye have overcome the wicked one.”

Does God’s Word richly abide in your children’s hearts?

Blessings to you from Nancy Campbell

STRENGTHEN YOUR FAMILY

StrengthFamTalking about the home, Isaiah 54:2 states: “Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and STRENGTHEN thy stakes.”

I believe it is time to strengthen our marriages, homes, and families.

Our precious young people live in a society where they are surrounded by deception, evil, and violence on TV and social media. Broken homes are normal. Divorce is a way of life and yet divorce destroys the lives of children. They are never the same again. It’s not what God planned. He plans for children to live in a home with a father and mother who love one another and who are committed to strengthen and build their family together. This assignment is more important than anything else they do in in life.

All the government programs, and even church programs, are only crutches. They are not the real thing. The real thing is stable family life with a father and mother who are committed to their family—even before their careers and every project they do in life.

The word “strengthen” in this Scripture is “chazaq” and means: “to be bound fast, to be attached, to make firm, to cleave, to be constant, to support, to preserve, to hold fast, and to strengthen.” It means to make your roots deep. The HCSB translates it: “Drive your pegs deep.” The NET says: “Pound your stakes deep.” This is what we must do with our marriage and family life. We’ve got to dig in deep.

Why don’t you try to do at least one thing each day to strengthen your marriage and your home life? Establish family togetherness at your meal table. Think of special things you can do as a family in the evenings at home. Don’t always be rushing out. Make your home life rich and exciting.

That’s what you call building. Each one of us either builds into our marriage and home or we pull it down. Proverbs 14;1 says: “Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.”

Are you building into your marriage and home today?

MOTHER, YOU MAKE THE HOME

MotherMakeHmWe often say that “Heaven is my home.” Why is Heaven home? Because God is there. Jesus is there at the right hand of the Father. Would it be Heaven if God was not there? Not at all.

What about our homes? The presence of God makes home feel like home. And the mother in the home makes a home. Is there any joy walking into a home when no one is in the home? Back to four walls? It’s cold and boring.

It’s people who make home. Mother and father and brothers and sisters. I remember as a child coming home from school. Arriving home my mother would be there, either in the kitchen or in her sewing room. I would say Hi, throw my bag in my room, and run out the door to play with my friends. I was happy and carefree. I felt secure because mother was at home.

However, on some occasions, when I arrived home I found no one at home. My mother was late home from shopping. Instead of running out the door to play with my friends, I moped around the house. Something was wrong. Had Jesus come and left me behind??? I didn’t feel the same freedom to run out and play.

The security that comes from knowing mother is there is powerful. One of the names of God is Jehovah Shammah which means “God is there.” To know that God is always available is so steadying to our lives. In the same way, we as mothers show to our children a wonderful characteristic of God when we are “there” for our children. We show them what God is like.

To be “there” in the heart of the home reveals a little of what Heaven is like because Heaven is only Heaven because God is there. And home is only home because YOU are there.

Dearest mother, you are not wasting your life when you are in your home and available for your children. You show to them a God-like character which brings great stability to their lives.

Be blessed today,

Nancy Campbell

YOUR SPREADING INFLUENCE

SpreadInflenceCan I ask you to do something right now? Stand up and stretch out your arms. As wide as you can! I want you to get the feel of your spreading influence as a mother. Don’t feel embarrassed. Only your children are watching. In fact, you can ask them to do it too. They need to know that God has chosen them to influence the world.

Dear mother, you often feel as though you are insignificant as you are hidden at home raising your children. I want you to know that you are doing a powerful work. And your influence will not be hidden forever, but will spread abroad across the world.

No one has more influence than a mother.

Society will tell you the opposite, but they purport lies.

As you raise your children for God and diligently teach and impart God’s ways into their lives, you work with God to prepare them for their destiny. As they go out into the world they will influence society according to how you have taught and trained them.

Although my husband and I have traveled to many nations of the world, our children have traveled to nations we have never been to take the gospel. How did they get there? Only because we brought them into the world and imparted godly convictions into their lives.

God spoke through Balaam and prophesied: “How beautiful are your tents, O Jacob; how lovely are your homes, O Israel! They SPREAD before me like palm groves” (Numbers 24:5, 6 NLT). The ESV says: “They STRETCH AFAR.” Their Influence is powerful. Every new godly couple who gets married and builds a strong marriage and family spread the blessing of God in the nation.

Hosea 14:5, 6 (ESV): “I will be like the dew to Israel; he shall blossom like the lily; he shall take root like the trees of Lebanon; his shoots shall SPREAD OUT . . .“ Your children (your olive shoots) will spread out across the nation and across the earth to reveal God’s glory and truth.

Isaiah 54:2, 3 (HCSB): “ENLARGE the site of your tent, and let your tent curtains be STRETCHED OUT; do not hold back; LENGTHEN your ropes, and drive your pegs deep. For you will SPREAD OUT to the right and to the left, and your descendants will dispossess nations.” We know this Scripture speaks of Israel, but we see the picture of God’s heart for our homes and our families. They are to influence the earth.

Why don’t you stand up and stretch out your arms again? It’s good to do something tangible to realize the power of what you are doing in your home and how your children will go forth to influence the world.

May you be blessed in your home today,

Nancy Campbell

YOU ARE RICH!

YouRRichIt’s easy to get into a self-pity attitude, isn’t it? We can gravitate to it without any problems. But it’s a lie! It’s a ploy of the devil to drag us down to despair!

When we think self-pitying thoughts and embrace the “poor me” attitude, we must take action and “bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:5). We must “gird up the loins of our minds” and cast out these thoughts in the name of Jesus Christ.

Then we must begin to think positive thoughts. Instead of “poor me,” what about “rich me”?

Do you have a home over your head to protect you? You are rich. If you have traveled to other countries of the world you know that we are all rich in America compared to the standards of most of the world.

Do you have a husband who works hard and provides for you? You are rich.

Has God blessed you with children? Oh my, you are rich! Your children are far greater than any material blessing you could ever own. Just before Christmas the home Pearl and Charlie were living in burned to the grown while they were away! When they heard the news, what was their reaction? Pearl knew the boys were out of the home, but she was screaming, “Is Autumn safe and alive?” Although they lost absolutely everything they owned, she didn’t care about one bit of it as long as her children were safe!

Not only are our children our greatest riches on this earth, but our eternal riches too. They are the only eternal riches we take into eternity with us. Everything else will be left behind.

Do you have clean water? The water out of your tap water may be fluoridated and chlorinated, but you can purchase clean water anywhere. I have just been in Bolivia where many poor families only have contaminated water and not enough money to buy clean water. This is the experience of so many in the world.

Do you have an electric stove on which to cook? You are rich. The above picture shows how a family in Bolivia cook for their whole family. Once again, this is familiar to so many countries of the world.

Have you received God’s salvation and eternal life? You are rich. You are “heirs of God, and joint-hears with Christ.” You are an inheritor of the glory of eternal life for ever and ever. This life is only a vapor, but you have eternal riches beyond compare. To have “Christ in you, the hope of glory” is the greatest riches of all!

Do you have friends with whom you can communicate and fellowship? You are rich. To be lonely is a curse.

I have only just begun. When those negative thoughts begin to plague your mind, cast them out and begin thanking God for all your riches and blessings.

Speak aloud Psalm 103:1-5: “Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities, who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemed thy life from destruction, who crowned thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”

Blessings to you today, Nancy Campbell

I took this picture when I was in Pa Paz, Bolivia recently. This is all this mother had to cook for her big family.

GOD WANTS TO LIVE IN YOUR HOME

GodLiveHmI love the fact that our God is a “Dwelling God.” He loves to dwell with His people. Jesus loves to dwell with us. The Holy Spirit loves to abide in us. He created us for His pleasure and for fellowship with Him.

At Family Devotions this morning we read John 1:14: “The Word was made flesh, and DWELT AMONG US, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father) full of grace and truth.”

The word “dwelt” is “skenoo” and means “to encamp, to occupy, to reside (as God did in the Tabernacle of old, a symbol of protection and communion).” How wonderful that Jesus was willing to leave the glory of Heaven and become a man to dwell with us.

But now, greater than dwelling amongst His people on earth, He dwells in our hearts by His Spirit. He is full of grace and truth and wants us to be full of grace and truth in this world.

He also wants to dwell in our homes. God who created the first home loves to dwell in homes. He walked and talked with Adam and Eve each day in their garden home. He wants to do the same with us today.

Invite Him to come into your home. Invite Him to your table as you sit together as a family each day. Establish an altar (a time and place) where you meet with God each morning and evening. Fill your home with the praises of the Lord. Create an atmosphere for His presence.

When God is in your midst, it doesn’t matter what is happening outside. Live in His dwelling presence.

Have a beautiful day,

Nancy Campbell

THE ARMY AT HOME

ArmyHomeShould women go to war? I don’t believe that mothers with children should leave their precious children and their homes to go to war. This is the opposite to God’s plan.

God shows us something of His heart about this in Psalm 68:11, 12 (HCSB): “The Lord gave the command; a great company of women brought the good news: The kings of the armies flee—they flee!” She who stays at home divides the spoil.”

What is happening here? The enemy has come to attack and therefore the soldiers (the men) prepare and go out to war. They are the army in the field.

But there is another army at home—the women. They are also called an army. The word “company” means those who are part of an army, a military, a war! My KJV Bible gives the word “army” in the margin. It’s the same word that is used of God who is THE LORD OF HOSTS! The One who is the mighty, powerful Warrior, ready to intervene for His people.

Where is this army of women? They are not out fighting the enemy in the field. They are at home. Do you notice it says: “SHE who stays home?” It is not the men who stay home, but the women. Some fathers stay home to look after their children while their wives go to work. This is opposite to the Scriptures.

While the men fight to save their homes and families out on the field, the women fight to protect their families and “hold the fort” in the absence of their husbands.

And when they win the battle, they go forth as a conquering force to proclaim the good news! Back in Bible days they danced and sang. And when the men brought back the “spoil,” the gold, silver, and beautiful garments, they didn’t give a little to the women. They gave it all to them. They gave them the authority to divide it and share it among their daughters, handmaidens, the poor, and all around them.

They were all in the fight together, but each one doing the task God intended for them!

French and Skinner’s Translation states:
“The Lord giveth the word!
A great company of women announce the glad tidings!
Kings with their armies flee—they flee!
And those, who dwell within the house, divide the spoil!
Although they lie among the hearth-stones,
They are become like a dove’s wings overlaid with silver,
And like her pinions overlaid with yellow gold.
When the Almighty scattereth kings,
They glisten therein, as snow upon Salmon.”

Dear mother, you are part of a mighty army of women. Your place to fight against the enemy is in the home! You keep the home fires burning. You strengthen your home, your marriage, your family. You keep pushing back the enemy who wants to subtly come into your home with his deceptions and destruction. If you are not there to watch, the enemy will take over!

You support your husband in his work. You release him to do his career and you embrace your role of motherhood with all your heart.

You seek after truth and teach it to your children. You proclaim the good news of the Gospel and of your love for family wherever you go. You are a proclaimer of truths,

Oh, for a great army of women to understand the power of their homes, to come back to their homes and raise godly sons and daughters. Oh, for a great army of women to proclaim God’s truth in society instead of being deceived by the humanistic values of today which are opposite to God’s living Word.

BABY CELEBRATION

BabyCelWhen Elizabeth gave birth to John the Baptist, what did her neighbors, cousins, and friends do? Luke 1:58 says they all “REJOICED WITH HER.” The word also means “to congratulate.” I am sure they must have held a great party!

It’s the same word that’s used in 1 Corinthians 12:26: “And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honored, all the members REJOICE with it.” Sometimes it’s inconvenient to attend a baby celebration, but I believe we should always try to celebrate new life, don’t you?

I love the words of K. Wiggan: “Every child born into the world is a new incarnate thought of God, an ever fresh and radiant possibility.”

We are meant to rejoice when a baby is born. Psalm 107:41-43 tells us that when the upright see God increasing families like a flock that they REJOICE. They are not negative about new babies coming into the world. They understand it is the lovingkindness and goodness of God. It even goes on to say that the wicked are reduced to silence.

Therefore, on Monday evening we planned a Baby Celebration at our home for Serene and her new baby, Solace. We often have the celebration after the baby is born rather than before, so we can celebrate the baby.

Although little Solace is No. 14 in Serene and Sam’s family, it is as important to celebrate her life as if she was the firstborn. In fact, I think that Serene and Sam are more doting parents than ever. Isn’t it true that the older you get the more you appreciate and value life? Serene says she is “smitten” and Sam says he is “besotted” with little Solace.

We had a wonderful celebration of joy. We ate beautiful Trim Healthy Mama food, fellowshipped, celebrated motherhood and the new baby, and played some meaningful games. I’ll post some pictures to let you feel the joy with us.

Many blessings to you today,

Nancy Campbell

DRUDGERY OR DELIGHT?

DrudgDelightWhen God blesses you with a precious little baby, He gives you a very special gift from His heart. A gift that is eternal. Designed and planned by God. He knew this baby before time began. And when God gives you this precious life, He doesn’t give it to you to give to someone else to nurture and mother. He gives this child to you.

Therefore, as you nurse your sweet baby, pour out your love on your little one, and mother and train the other children God has given you, you are in the perfect will of God! You are doing what God intended you to do. And remember the wonderful promise in 1 John 2:17: “He that doeth the will of God abideth forever.”

What attitude should you have to fulfil the perfect will of God? We read about the attitude of Jesus when He answered God’s call to leave Heaven and come to this earth to die, shed His blood, and to take our sins upon Himself. The prophetic word in Psalm 40:8 says: “I DELIGHT to do thy will, O my God.”

Are you delighting in your motherhood? We decide what attitude we will have each day. We can choose to delight in our mothering. Embrace it with all out heart. Praise God even on the challenging and difficult days. When we delight to do God’s will, we will live in joy (Psalm 113:9 and Hebrews 12:2).

Or we can give in to self-pity and complaining. What does that do? It changes everything into drudgery!

Does someone who serves God in a foreign country and suffers hardship for the name of Christ become disillusioned and grumble about their difficulties? No. They embrace it all with joy because they are serving God. They know they are walking in God’s will. The perfect will of God is not always the easiest path, but it is the eternal one. The greatest one. The only one.

You determine your attitude of mothering. You determine the atmosphere of your home. It’s either delight or drudgery.

Will choose to DELIGHT in will of God for you today?

MOST FEARS ARE LIES

FearLiesGuard against fear, ladies. There is a healthy fear which God gives us for our preservation and safety. However, we are often plagued with unhealthy fears which come from the enemy. One of Satan's greatest ploys is to tyrannize you with fear. Not realistic fears, but unrealistic fears.

Psalm 53:5 says: "There they were in great fear where no fear was." The literal meaning is: "They feared a fear!" This is what Satan wants you to do. Fear a fear! And he is good and getting you to do that. In Job 15:21 it says: "The sound of fears is in his ears." Not a true fear--only the SOUND of fears! Only the suggestion of what MIGHT happen! How the devil loves to deceive us!

Remember, God does not give you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Don't give into the phony doubts and fears the devil puts into your mind. He especially loves to put fears in your heart about having another baby. Or wondering how you could ever provide for another baby.

Fear stops you from doing the will of God. That's why the enemy uses fear against you. It immobilizes you. Debilitates you. Paralyzes you. Instead, fill your mind with God's Word. His truth LIBERATES you!
